In Sunday’s message Steve spoke of the experience of God being a moment by moment ongoing practice rather than an epic series of experiences. Steve referenced this as ‘spiritual breathing’. Listen to the message and get the questions after the break.

Exhale – Confessing sin
Read Matthew 6:12 and 1John 1:9 – What does the Bible say about confession of sin?
Read James 5:16 – What does the Bible say about confession of sin to other trusted Christians?

When a confession of sin (under any circumstance) is brought before you, how do you respond?
When confessing a sin – what do you hope for in a response?
How did you learn the proper response, both given and received, in these circumstances?

Inhale – Being filled with the Spirit daily.

Do you, with purpose and intent, seek the Holy Spirit in your words and actions in an ongoing, moment by moment process in your daily life?
Does the thought of that seem daunting?
Don’t let it.- Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The daily knowing of God is clearly shown scripturally throughout the Bible.

1Cor.2:16 – Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him? But we understand these things for we have the mind of Christ.

How do we step into and then stay in the mind of Christ?

How important is the relationship between intellectual activity and the work of the Holy Spirit in the daily process of your life? Mark 12:30

What do you think the consequences would be if there was a separation of the realm of the Spirit from the realm of the intellect?

Read Titus 1:1 and Col. 1:3-10  – What is Paul’s goal?
