Under The Broom Tree

Susan Farnham guest posts our weekly lifegroup discussion questions.  These questions are based on Sunday’s message called “Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates,” which can be heard at the link below.

Ever have those moments, days, hours, weeks, where it just becomes too much? One thing after another. Frustration mounts and you just want to give up? Much like Elijah, you are exhausted, confidence and spirit broken. The negative impact has you believing that circumstances will never get better. Have you ever said to God ‘take me now…..please!’

Where do you go when you run from your problems? Elijah retreated into sleep. Where do you retreat?

In your retreat, have you been aware of God’s restoration process within you? Or do you only see the restoration process in retrospect?

While under the broom tree, what does the angel tell Elijah to do? How can you apply this, personally, as you are restored?

When you look back on failures you have experienced in life, do you believe God may have allowed the failure no matter how hard you worked?
Why?

Psalm 23  – What does the Lord provide for us?
