The Resurrection Had To Happen!

So, I am typing these questions up before our Easter Sunday celebration in the park. How do you think it went?

I just have a few short questions for you this week.

Romans 4:24-25 NLT
God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.

Talk a little bit about why the Resurrection of Jesus was necessary for our justification before God. How does the Resurrection confirm the completion and acceptance of Jesus’ atoning work?

1 Corinthians 15:54–57 (NLT)
Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

How does the Resurrection demonstrate Jesus’ victory over sin and death? What does this victory mean for believers today?

1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (NLT)
I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

Romans 10:9 (NLT)
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

What role does the Resurrection play in the gospel message? Why is it essential to include the Resurrection in the gospel?

1 Thessalonians 4:13–14 (NLT)
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.

Jesus’ resurrection gives us hope for our own resurrection… In what ways does this hope affect how we live today?
