As you know, a couple of times each year, I like to get away for a few days to pray, read, and plan out the upcoming message calendar. We’ve recently returned to the book of Ephesians on Sunday mornings, and I’ve got a TENTATIVE schedule mapped out. Of course, this is always open to change based on events, circumstances, and the moving of the Holy Spirit.
Typically, I like to get as far ahead as I can (the amount of time varies wildly) and communicate to Casey so he can more effectively plan with me. This is great for us, because we can plan and pray about the upcoming themes and ideas together, resulting in a more fluid experience for everyone.
I’ve thought about posting a series of “how I plan my message” blogs, including what tools I use, what kind of timeframe I try to use, and so forth… I might do that later on this year.
