Wise King Solomon says the difference between the prudent and the simple is action… But let’s face it. We’ve taken the wrong action in the past, and we have experienced devastating consequences. So, when we are standing at the fork in the path, how can we determine the difference between a good action, and a bad one? How can we learn to take better actions, and stay on the best path?

Why does it make sense to trust God over your own judgement?
Sure… We know this. Yet, we often lean on our own understanding to make decisions, take actions. Why do we do this?
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
-Proverbs 3:6
I used to think that this verse meant something along the lines of, “in all your ways, give a quick nod to God.” In other words, before rushing into that decision I was about to make on my own… Taking that action that I in my flesh really wanted to take, I should be sure to say a quick prayer, and God would bless whatever came next. Is that Biblical, or prideful? Is that what we do? How?
What does it really mean to “acknowledge him” in all our ways?
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
-Proverbs 3:7
If we are saying, “God, your way is better than my way,” we begin taking steps down the best path that He has for us… But how is this different from what we are used to hearing in 21st century America?
