Lifegroup Questions: Catching Fire

CatchFire01

Thanks to Susan Farnham for guest-posting these discussion questions once again… These questions are from the message “Catching FIre,” which is part of our “Reel LIfe” message series.  You can listen to the message at the end of this post.

Fear not….Jesus

I must now become the actual leader, the face, the voice, the embodiment of the revolution…..The Hunger Games

In Steve’s Sunday message he spoke of the revolution that Jesus started –  showing the world who God really is.
As a Christian,  in retrospect, how did the revolution begin inside of you?    How do you show people who God really is?….Do you focus on the works of Christ or do you focus on the salvation offered through Christ…or perhaps a balance of both?

Steve listed some of the consequences of this revolution –

  • crippled economies
  • toppled governments
  • created cultures
  • killed false religions

Take a short walk through providential history and give some examples of how Christs revolution was able to accomplish these events through Christians as individuals and corporately.
Does history show that the need for Christ’s Revolution is ongoing?

How do we, as Christians stay in preparation for our role?
Romans 15:4- For whatever was written in former days, was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
Proverbs 24:14 – Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it you will have a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

What is the relationship between your spiritual gifts and your role in Christ’s revolution?

In connecting people to God we, as Christians, view the only valid connection to be the Gospel.
What would you say to a non believer to help them  understand the relationship between the Gospel and freedom from bondage/oppression whether self imposed or imposed by others? and remember…you are the mediator…
