[Lifegroup Discussion] Week 10: Take A Breath

YOTB_firstPause

We’re ten weeks in, and have just wrapped cup the Torah (the first five books of the Bible.) Let’s pause and take a moment to reflect and regroup.

I am so glad you have chosen to be part of a life group. We are building something together here… A community that is so much more than the sum of it’s parts. We are practicing part of the Great Commandment here, and being transformed into what Jesus wants us to become.

Matthew 22:37–40 (NLT)
“‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

As we have been working through the Torah together, how have you noticed the nature of your discussion change? Is your group different somehow than it was before beginning the year?

Do you feel that the discussion on the reading has brought your group together?

How has your group done on keeping up with the reading at this point?

What needs to change or what needs to stay the same with your group’s reading habits?

Acts 2:44–47 (NLT)
And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

1 Corinthians 12:26–27 (NLT)
If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

What about the nature of your group? Does it look like it is supposed to? Do you find it to be an open, loving, accepting place where you and others can dig into God’s Word together?

What do you think your group does really well?

What kinds of things need to improve in your group?

Since we have just completed the Torah, Why don’t we all take this opportunity to recommit to our Year of the Bible, and to our group? What does that need to look like for you and your group?

Are you far behind in your reading? Why don’t you start up with us in Joshua? If you missed it, here is the Joshua intro video. Maybe you should watch it as a group?

Of course, if you still don’t have the ReadScripture app, you can get it for free right here and keep up with the reading together:

Lifegroup leaders, I will be excited to hear how your group responds to this. Please email me and let me know!
