Lifegroup Discussion Questions: Persecuted

FamTogether

On Sunday, we looked at Jesus’ promise that if we followed him, we would be persecuted.  But, the good news is that our persecution means that we are serving a bigger, better kingdom that the tangible one around us.  Here are some questions for your group:

  • What is one idea that really stood out to you from Sunday?  Why did this grab your attention?
  • What types of persecution have you had to endure as a result of having a Christ-centered family and life?
  • What steps might you need to take to better prepare your family for persecution?
  • Read and discuss these verses:  Matthew 5:10-12, John 15:18-20, 1 Corinthians 4:12, 1 Peter 4:12-16
  • Studies show that where family identity is strong, peer pressure is weak.  Where family identity is weak, peer pressure is powerful.  How would you describe your family’s identity?  Is it strong or weak?  Explain.
  • One point was “If you don’t have conflict, maybe your lifestyle doesn’t conflict.”  How did that make you feel?  Do you agree or disagree?
  • What is your vision for your family?  What is one thing you can do to accomplish that vision for them?

This messages series has been great… We start back into Ephesians this coming Sunday.  See you then!
