2009 was a wild ride, wasn’t it? We started out with an incredibly historic inauguration in Washington, and ended up with a failed terrorist attempt in the skies over Detroit. Through it all, the economy was on everyone’s mind. We finished off the first decade of this new milennium with a mixed bag, didn’t we?
Here in Ellijay, though, we have seen some incredible things! God is at WORK all around us, isn’t He? I am amazed to see what has started here in The Orchard Church, and am excited about where it is all heading. We’ve really begun to get our feet underneath us, and are beginning to move forward. We started morning worship services back at Easter time, we launched Life Groups in the Fall, and there is even more to come this month.
Like everyone, we reflect a little bit as the new year comes, looking back on where we’ve been, and make resolutions for the new year. Here are some of the things I am praying for in 2010 for The Orchard Church:
- That we would LISTEN to God and follow Him closely
- That Life Groups would become a priority in everyone’s life
- That our ministry would continue to extend into farther reaches; through the Women’s ministry, Youth, Men’s, the Branch, and the partnership in Mexico
- That our Children’s ministry would flourish to minister not only to kids, but to moms and dads
- That God would provide the financial and physical resources not yet present so we can accommodate the growth He is bringing
Would you join me in praying for these things in the new year?
