Great Point

I was just reading back over some notes from last Sunday’s message, and I came across a GREAT point from an unnamed author that I left out of the message, but I thought was very valuable to pass on…

Mark 6:41Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and asked God’s blessing on the food. Breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples to give to the people.

The disciples had come to Jesus with a problem… They didn’t have enough food to feed everyone. Jesus told them to bring Him what they had. They did, and Jesus gave thanks. he asked God’s blessing on the food. “By that act, He reminded the hungry people that God is the source of all good and needful gifts. This is a good lesson for us: instead of complaining about what we do not have, we should give thanks to God for what we do have, and He will make it go farther. “
