Our big community pool party was rained out last weekend, so we have RESCHEDULED it for September 8! Last year we had WAY more people partying with us than we expected. This year, Gilmer County will open the pool AFTER the season ends just for us! Bring a friend and have one last swim before the fall.
Loving Others
When taking the journey from “wander” to “wonder,” it seems like people tend to get in your way, doesn’t it?

What has been your greatest disappointment in church people and/or church life?
Paul the apostle definitely experienced the WONDER. In his letter to the church at Ephesus, he challenges us to “live a life worthy” of our calling as believers… In other words, to actually LIVE the wonder that Jesus wants us to live. Here’s how he says that works out for us:
Ephesians 4:25–28 (NLT)
So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.
So, stepping into wonder means we stop doing what things?
What things should we replace those things with?
Ephesians 4:29 (NLT)
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
Why do you think we give ourselves such a pass on this (and the other things?) How does our language keep us from the wonder? What difference will using our words to “be an encouragement” lead us more and more into wonder?
What are some practical ways we can do that?
Ephesians 4:30–32 (NLT)
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

According to Paul, what should be our motivation for loving others?
How can I recognize when my attitude toward others doesn’t match up to His?
