The Christmas Eve Celebration was just fantastic. SO many people were involved in making it a success, that I couldn’t possibly thank them all. It was great to see so many of our folks work so tirelessly to just tell the story of JESUS here in Ellijay. To all of you that helped out before, after, and/or during our first Christmas Eve event, THANK YOU!
Here are a few of my thoughts about the event:
- That “He Loves Us” song was a real winner. I know lots of people have asked about it. It was written by John Mark McMillan, and recorded by Kim Walker and most recently, David Crowder. I find myself listening to it all the time lately.
- The setting of the Gilmer County Bank Conference Center was just great. It was exactly what we needed it to be… But we couldn’t have fit 10 more people in there. It was PACKED.
- Somehow, we got the time published wrong somewhere, or something… We had quite a few people arrive early and we didn’t get to finish our rehearsal beforehand! Even so, it still came off very well
- We experienced a few power surges, but nothing blew up.
- The bottom line that it always comes down to: The Gospel. Christmas is all about the fact that “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
All in all, it was just a great Christmas Eve. Can’t wait for next year!
