I hope your group will take some time to watch a Ray Comfort witnessing video or two. I liked this recently posted one.
Also, be sure to talk about and pray for each of your “my three.”
Thanks again to Susan Farnham for this week’s discussion questions!
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
Ephesians 6:13 NLT
Spiritual warfare is on that is fought by the “whole armor of God”, the armor of faith, God’s word, righteousness, peace, salvation, and especially prayer.
Why is the world more concerned about physical harm rather than spiritual harm? Is spiritual harm more detrimental than physical harm? Why?
Describe the “day of evil”?
Sin is the weakness in our armor. Personal sin is committed everyday by all people. We have an inherited sin nature from Adam. We commit individual, personal sins from seemingly innocent untruths to the most heinous of crimes.
Better to have wisdom than weapons of war, but one sinner can destroy much that is good.
Ecclesiastes 9:18 NLT
Mr. Comfort’s examples cover the unexpected and unplanned as well as the complete failure when the evil day arrives. Sin cannot be contained. It has a domino effect.
Discuss the domino effect in Mr. Comfort’s examples.
What do we learn from this?
What was the weakness, the chink in the armor of Judas?
Where is the weakness in your armor? And what tempts you?
Disarming Satan
“If we want to be more than conquerors in Christ, we must have a strategy to disarm Satan. That’s what I call being prepared. Preparation is everything.” (page 97)
How does Mr. Comfort prepare for that evil day?
What is his strategy to disarm Satan?
Sin cannot be contained. But it can be defeated.
How do you prepare for that evil day, and what is your strategy to disarm Satan?
